Ian McDowall
Digital Lead
Ian is responsible for all things Digital at Genius Within, in a role that brings together his background in project management, technology and business strategy. He leads a team whose skills cover software development, user experience, delivery and design, and support platforms including the Genius Finder, eLearning and our custom digital tools.
Ian has been working in digital development and marketing for over 25 years across a number of leading global agencies. In that time he’s held a wide-range of senior management roles across Project and Programme Management, Technology, Operations and even New Business. He has worked with a wide range of clients including Intel, Microsoft, Vodafone, the UK Government, GSK and RAC.
Ian is a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered IT Professional with an Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and Masters Degrees in Software Development and in Technology Management.

What is Ian’s favourite way to relax and unwind after a day’s work?
Ian is not good at stopping, he just keeps running around! With three daughters there is always a lot of family things going on, and he also loves to cycle, swim outdoors, travel, and work on his old motorbikes and cars

Ian is an engineer so he has a drive to take things apart to see how they work, but more importantly he usually puts them back together.
