CND Awards 2024

Another Fantastic Year of Celebrating Neurodiversity!

The aim of our awards is to recognise and celebrate successes in the Neurodivergent community.

We recognise the individuals, businesses, organisations and projects that go above and beyond to promote accessibility and inclusion.

This year our theme was ‘Authentically Us’ and the live event certainly demonstrated that. We had a diverse group of finalists and our ‘neuro-champions’ represented a broad range of neurotypes, lived experiences and identities.

Hosted by the fabulous actress, singer and writer Michelle Gayle, over the course of the evening we heard stories ranging from new inclusion initiatives and creative projects, to young people making it through exams, participating in sporting events, and thriving in their own ways.

We love bringing the neurodivergent community and our allies together in this way every year, and we thank our many sponsors who help make this possible and allow us to donate to a grass roots charity. This year we chose ‘The World Re-imagined’ a charity focused on transforming public understanding of the Transatlantic Trade in Enslaved Africans and its ongoing impact, in order to make racial justice & harmony a reality.

As a majority neurodivergent organisation we know all too well how much of our lives neurodivergent people spend being made to focus on what we “can’t do”. The Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards are an annual opportunity to address that imbalance by sharing stories of joy, success and resilience in a way that isn’t patronising or othering, and actively celebrates our differences.

See you all again next year!

Highlights from the 2023 Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards

Nicky Campbell and his daughter Kirsty joined us for 2023

We were delighted that broadcaster, podcaster and best-selling author Nicky Campbell joined us at this year’s awards alongside his daughter Kirsty Campbell.

The father and daughter duo supported the awards and shared personal reflections as part of the hybrid event being held in person and streamed online on 28 September 2023.

The pair both have ADHD, and it was Kirsty’s diagnosis at the age of 15 that led Nicky to explore his own ADHD traits aged 60, which he discusses in an episode of his podcast ‘Different’.
