Voices of Impact
The Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards 2025 Campaign Theme: ‘Voices of Impact’

The aim of the Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards 2025, hosted by Genius Within, is to celebrate the brilliance and resilience of neurodivergent individuals, organisations, businesses, and projects that drive greater accessibility and inclusion every day.
Since our inspiring celebration in 2024, shifts in the global DEI landscape encouraged us to get creative. So we have launched a new kind of celebration this year. One that brings you back to the heart of this community by sharing how past winners are continuing to make an impact.
We’re delighted to reconnect with previous winners, sharing their stories and celebrating the remarkable things they’re achieving now. May their journeys inspire you and spark ideas for who you’d like to nominate next year. We’re here to stay!

We caught up with previous Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards winners to see what winning meant to them and what they have been up to since

More From Past Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards Winners
“Winning the Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards was a huge honour – and a powerful reminder of why this work matters. Since then, I’ve continued to push for change: publishing research on ADHD in girls and women, setting national quality standards for diagnosis, and contributing as a member of the NHS ADHD Taskforce.
I’m currently writing three books – two providing guidance on the assessment of ADHD in children and adults, and the third offering practical tools to support people with ADHD in the workplace. I’ve also published accessible online training in cognitive behavioural coaching on my Teachable platform. My goal is simple: to raise the bar for how we understand, assess, and support neurodivergent individuals at every stage of life.”
Dr Suzy Young, Neurodiverse Research of the Year Winner 2020

“It’s been an absolute whirlwind since winning Neurodivergent Star of the Year at the Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards. I started my dream job as a journalist at the BBC, and since then have been highlighting stories around social affairs, disability and neurodiversity.
I joined the BBC Ability Board and became the England Hub lead, and work to encourage conversations around representation and diversity.
I was also elected as the new Co-Chair of the Disability Journalism Forum, working across the industry to share best practice in inclusion and uplift disabled talent in the media. I‘ve also been named as one of the most influential disabled people in the UK as part of the Disability Power 100.
I’m really proud of how far I’ve come and I’m looking forward to what happens next!”
Kit Taylor, Neurodivergent Star of the Year Award Winner 2024

“The award was very meaningful, as it gave me an opportunity to represent my tribe on a world stage. It has inspired me to work even harder to continue sharing my story and be a hope and a voice to others that might need it. I have had the honor of being published a few times, including my chapbook of poems, in the last 18 months.
I have continued my advocacy through social media and panels. I fully understand that this work is not a choice if we need an equitable and just world, but certainly a big privilege that I don’t take for granted.”
Swarit Gopalan, ND Young Achiever Award Winner 2023

“Since we were Highly Commended in the Genius Within CND Awards, we’ve been on a huge journey of growth and discovery. Meeting like minded leaders and reading Dr Nancy Doyle’s Neurodivergent Leadership book has helped us to better understand our unique challenges as a ND led organisation, whilst also recognising our strengths. Being celebrated and nationally recognised for the work we do has both internally and externally supported us to step outside of the day to day challenges and see the bigger picture – be proud of our impacts and of the difference we are making, feel inspired by the stories of others, be motivated to reflect, learn and grow.”
Sophie Watkinson, Stomping Grounds Forest School, Inclusive Education Provider Award Highly Commended 2023
