At Genius Within, exciting things happen every March! A team of our shipmates head out into the wild, attending various events throughout the month in support and development of neurodiversity and neuroinclusion. Our schedule this month is packed, and the first big week of conferences has just come to an end.

A group of our team set out to the Division of Occupational Psychology Annual Conference 2025 in London from 5th–7th March. The DOP Conference was the perfect opportunity to share our work from Genius Within, learn from other experts in the neurodiversity community, and engage in interesting conversations about how occupational psychology can drive systemic, inclusive change.

Genius Within Founder and Chief Science Officer, Dr Nancy Doyle, delivered 3 sessions across the 3 day event, and what a success they were!

On day 1, Nancy delivered a workshop titled Scaling Data Driven Neuro-inclusion, supported by Harveen Kandola and Clare Mottram. We received some lovely feedback from an aspiring Occupational Psychologist.

Text reading A big thank you to Genius Within for an insightful presentation on “Scaling data driven neuro-inclusion” at the BPS DOP Conference 2025. The presentation gave valuable insights into coaching strategies and creating an inclusive environment. The live coaching demonstration was truly inspiring, showing how to build trust, assess client comfort, and deliver tailored interventions.

As an MSc Occupational and Business Psychology student, I gained a deeper understanding of the diagnostic process in coaching, especially the 40-20-40 approach - balancing diagnosis, strategy, and reflection. I'm excited to apply these learnings to promote inclusive coaching practices and support emotional wellbeing in future coaching conversations."

Later on that day, Nancy and Tim Heard, from HCML, shared a case study, Moving from a Gateway Model to a Triage Model of Neuroinclusion, which explored the Genius Finder and psychometric testing in more detail.

One of the most highly anticipated moments of the conference, for us, was Nancy’s keynote speech, Neurodiversity at Work – Where Have We Been and Where are we Going?, on the second day. The speech and presentation covered the history and language of neurodivergence, different neurotypes, spiky profiles, reasonable adjustments, and much more.

Nancy shared 4 key points for her audience to take away from the session:

1) You cannot get away with not knowing about this anymore

2) You know more than you think

3) We need to remember why we started all this neurodiversity nonsense

4) To move forward we need to focus on optimising performance

What makes conference season really important to us, is not only the experience of attendees interacting with Genius Within, but the value that our team takeaway from them.

Text reading 'Being here at the Department of Occupational Psychology Conference has been an absolutely intellectually stimulating, inspiring, and thought-provoking experience. The conference remind us why this field matters, we know more than we think we know.

What has made this conference truly remarkable is the depth of knowledge shared, the diversity of perspectives, and the way every discussion has sparked new questions and ideas as a scientist practitioner.
I leave this conference feeling energised, and towards the mission of being a pragmatic practitioner incorporating practice and research.'

As we look ahead, we’re energised by the conversations we had at DOP 2025, and can’t wait for the other upcoming conferences and webinars!
