From Concentration to Organisation, and Everything Inbetween: The ADHD Experience of Genius Finder

In celebration of ADHD Awareness Month (October) I thought I would share a few of my favourite things about the Genius Finder, as an ADHDer who was diagnosed at 60 years old:

1. Clarity and Self-Understanding

The Genius Finder helped me identify core strengths, talents, and cognitive patterns, offering greater clarity on how my brains works. This insight has given me a deeper sense of self-awareness, allowing me to understand why I struggle in certain areas and excel in others. It would definitely be of benefit to other ADHD-ers.

2. Improved Mental Health

Gaining insight into my strengths has reduced the frustration and self-doubt (something that often accompanies ADHD). The Genius Finder encourages a strengths-based approach, boosting self-esteem and reducing anxiety, ultimately improving mental well-being.

3. Better Relationships

With enhanced self-awareness, I feel as if I can better communicate my needs and challenges to those around me. Understanding my cognitive patterns allows me to better manage my impulsivity or inattentiveness, this has led to improved personal and professional relationships.

4. Newfound Self-Advocacy Skills

The Genius Finder empowers people with ADHD to articulate our strengths and needs more clearly. Armed with self-knowledge, we can advocate for accommodations at work, school, or in relationships, improving our overall quality of life.

5. Potential for Career Growth

By identifying strengths such as creativity, problem-solving, or hyperfocus, individuals with ADHD can strategically apply these abilities in our professional lives. The Genius Finder helped me, personally, to focus on areas where I excel, leading to better performance..

6. Opportunity to Reframe Past Experiences

The Genius Finder encourages me to view my ADHD not as a limitation but as a different way of thinking. This reframing helps me see past struggles previous struggles that were a result of unmet needs rather than personal failings.  This has been good for for healing and personal development.

Using this platform has helped me approach everyday challenges with greater confidence, giving me actionable steps to manage difficulties and make the most of my abilities. By offering both insight and support and being available on demand, the Genius Finder has been really beneficial and I would definitely recommend for those with ADHD.

In order to see the essence of a person, let us not linger on what may hold us back, but concentrate on what drives us forward.
