Jo is a well-qualified and highly experienced coach, who specializes in supporting neurodivergent leaders & executives to achieve a better balance between their professional performance, high workload and personal wellbeing.
Jo favours a “talk ahead of tools” approach to coaching, preferring to keep coaching simple, flexible, intuitive and brave, balancing challenge and support in the pursuit of achieving transformational outcomes. Jo’s coaching is predominantly solution-focused in nature and, as needed, Jo introduces evidence-based models and approaches from TA, clean coaching and positive psychology.
Prior to becoming a coach Jo, a dyspraxic with lived experience of neurodivergence, had a 20-year career in marketing in the leisure & retail sector in which she led teams of up to 750 people. She has launched and developed a number of successful brands and been responsible for both the strategic development and operational management of areas including marketing, buying and product development. Jo has held a number of senior positions, including that of Managing Director of a well-known multi-channel retailer.
Since qualifying as a coach at post-graduate level in 2016, Jo has delivered in excess of 3000 hours of coaching, having worked with hundreds of clients across a diverse range of industries and sectors.
Jo combines her coaching expertise, neurodiversity knowledge and her first-hand understanding of leadership and organizational systems to quickly build trust with people she coaches, enabling them to unlock the new thinking, perspectives and awareness needed to enable them to find solutions that help them thrive at work and in life.
Jo is also a qualified coach supervisor and, outside of coaching, is chair of governors at a Leicestershire primary school, sits on the Leicester City FC Fan Advisory Board and is often to be found deep in the undergrowth of her garden with a trowel in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other.
When working at her best, Jo is like a jigsaw puzzler without a picture to follow: knowing it’s possible to make a picture, excited by the challenge ahead, not daunted by how complicated or difficult it might seem and going step by step with her coachee to see what’s there. Sorting through the pieces, spotting patterns and similarities and then finding a way to fit everything together, gaining momentum as the picture emerges until it is finally all pieced together.
