Amanda Pape
Amanda is a Qualified Business Studies teacher with ADHD and Dyscalculia so she understands the multitude of issues neurodiverse individuals may face. She has an adult son who has Tourettes, OCD, ADHD and ASD so she has spent over 10 years learning everything she can to enable her to better support him. She is a volunteer at Tourettes Action, as well as a befriender and vocal advocate for all those with this condition. 4 years ago, she became a trustee at TA where she is the safeguarding lead as well as a member of the finance and general purpose committee.
Her approach to coaching is simple. Nothing is impossible.
Amanda has been a Karate coach for over 20 years. For her, the similarities between the dojo and the classroom are striking. In Karate she learns to use strength to her advantage, and to minimise weaknesses. This is the same in the classroom, the workplace and life. As a qualified teacher she knows how people learn and can employ a multitude of methods to help people to achieve their goals. Everyone is individual and unique, and thus learning needs to be tailored to particular learning styles, rather than the coaches coaching style.
Her proudest coaching moment was when a group of her A-Level students represented England in the global enterprise Olympics in Germany. Team working, creative thinking and negotiation were just a few of the skills she imparted to the group. All 8 went on to exceed their expected grades and are now living their best lives as did so many of her students.
